Siah Valentina was born of Surinamese parents in Texas, USA but lived in Suriname for most of her life. Art has always been a part of her life, she started dancing at a young age and was always engaged in creative activities. In 2009 she moved to the USA for university and was faced with a culture shock. Having to transition back to the USA forced Valentina to express herself creatively in a deeper way for the first time. At the age of 25, she graduated from the Art Institute with a degree in Graphic and Web design. Since then she has been working and living in Suriname as a full-time Artist and Graphic Designer.
